The aroma from this rye is captivating, you can almost smell the freshness right out of the bag. Our rye is from the Hazlett variety, a milder version of your standard rye.
Both the Light and Dark rye flour, from the Hazlett variety, grew on a steep hillside in Western Scotts Bluff County. The light soils here produced a rye with a milder, nuanced flavor profile. Hazlett rye is known for hints of vanilla, almond or dried fruit in your final baked goods.
We are very excited to bring this flour to your kitchen for blending into your favorite bread recipes or producing those hearty rye loaves that make such beautiful sandwiches and other goodies that highlight the rich, earthy notes of this grain.
